Counting by Tens

Kindergarten students drawing puzzles thumbnail217496
MWD students in Ms. Danielle Ballard’s kindergarten class cut a drawing into a 10-piece puzzle as a way to learn how to count by tens. During the activity, students counted to 100 while putting the 10 pieces back together to reveal their puzzle drawing.

Maurice W. Downing School’s first graders in Mrs. Katie Smyth's and Mrs. Bridget Jelovcic's classes embraced the Cinco de Mayo festivities. Students learned about the annual holiday and celebrated it by making sombreros and enjoying some tortillas and salsa.

MWD first grade students in Mrs. Katie Pawlowski’s class were inspired by Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup art during their 3D shapes unit. Students enjoyed using watercolor paints to add their creative flair.
