At Malverne Superintendent’s Conference Day on Sept. 3, the administration recognized ten members of the staff for their longevity with the district, honoring each with an award for 25, 30 or 40 years of service.
The honorees represented each of the district’s schools and served in a range of positions, from teachers and administrators to buildings and custodial staff.
During each presentation, the school principal introduced the honoree and lauded their accomplishments, as well as highlighted numerous ways each have had a profound impact on Malverne schools and students. After each introduction, the honorees were presented a plaque and invited for a photo with members of the board of education and administration.
Teachers and staff honored during the ceremony included: Joseph Aquino, Dominic Cifelli, Stacey Clayton, Amy Herman, Meredyth Martini, Kathleen Riveiro and Christine Stanton for 25 years of service, Jennifer Tumminello and Christine Waverla for 30 years of service and James Bosworth for 40 years of service.
In addition, two members of the staff were presented with Malverne Staff Member of the Year awards for 2024. Malverne High School AP Chemistry teacher and JV basketball coach Patrick Nolan and Maurice W. Downing Primary School building staff member Darrell Jones were both honored with this recognition.
The district is proud to honor these exceptional members of the Malverne family and are grateful for their decades of tireless dedication to our students and for their contributions to the entire Malverne school community.
