Malverne School District Honors Dedicated Educators and Support Staff

On August 31, Malverne School District and the Board of Education proudly celebrated its outstanding educators and dedicated support staff during a special recognition ceremony held at the Howard T. Herber Middle School auditorium.  

The honors began with the presentation of the 2026 Longevity Awards, recognizing staff members who have devoted decades of service to the district and its students.  

Leading this year’s milestone achievements is Cinthia Thorp, who was celebrated for an astounding 40 years of dedicated service.  

The district also extended special recognition to Michael Messina for reaching 30 years of service, alongside ten educators and staff members honored for 25 years of service:

  • Jennifer Gibbons
  • Kevin Harvey
  • Renee Iannaci
  • Lauren Matthew
  • Stacey Montemarano
  • Theresa Osso
  • Rachel Ruisi
  • Sarah Susi

Following the longevity recognitions, the district announced the recipients of the Staff Member of the Year Awards, honoring individuals who go above and beyond in their daily roles:  

Patricia Desormeau – Outstanding Teacher of the Year  

Stephanie Sandorfi – Outstanding Support Staff Member of the Year

The district congratulates all of our award recipients and thanks them for their continued devotion to Malverne’s students and community!
